OK
You have seen this before. Here I try to give you a short
photographic tour of the track using pics of some key
areas, interspersed with shots of some of the typical
track sections that you will see on the track. I've
compressed the photos as much as possible so that you with
old outdated internet connections can still view them in
about 30 seconds...I hope. Just click the pic. Enjoy. |

First off when you come in, go to the right if ya got
something taller than this.
|
At the east end of the levy ( past the start and grass
track ) there is a down ramp and an area to turn around to
go back down the lower road to the camp. ( to the left in
this picture ) |
You'll come back down this lower road, after you turn
around. That's all camping and grass track out there. |
The start and the grass track ( about 2 miles of it )
are there in the flats under the levy...bring your
umbrella, some binoculars, and the big camera lens. |
After the start, you head east on the grass track,
under I35, and along this fence ( 5th gear ). Most of the
open sections look like this...mowed.
|
There is of course water to be crossed, a couple of times. The good
news is that there's gravel in the bottom of most of it. This is where you go
into the woods.
|
...and it looks kinda like this. Wide, hard black dirt,
not too tight. |
Be careful though, this is a flood plain, and there is
debris everywhere. Donnie and Phil and Jerry and the gang
have done a good job of clearing most of it, but be
careful. |
Did I mention that it was "wide and Flowing"? |
The hill. |
The lady's, and over 35 amateur's alternate.
|
When ya get tired there's even a couch to take five on.
Yes we go along here, and yes, I'm standing in a foot of
water that we cross, while I'm taking this picture. |
Some of the best parts of the track are up and down
this kinda stuff. Notice the flood debris. |
