OK
You have seen this before. Here I try to give you a short
photographic tour of the track using pics of some key
areas, interspersed with shots of some of the typical
track sections that you will see on the track. I've
compressed the photos as much as possible so that you with
old outdated internet connections can still view them in
about 30 seconds...I hope. Just click the pic. Enjoy. |

Upper left
"V" Camp area, and the start goes
left through those trees by my fourwheeler.
|
So the first turn is
here. Sandy loam, about a hundred yards to turn 2. There
are low hanging tree branches in the turn...as you can
see. |
Then you turn right onto
singletrack and into the woods for a while. It's not too
tight but it will be single file. |
I warned you that there
may be some...moisture there. The ruts in the deep
woods tend to hold some water...a little. |
 Before
long you come out of the woods for a second, onto some
sandy loam, enough to make a quick pass if ya got the nads.
|
This is not an uphill, it's a
downhill...looking backwards.
|
THIS is what it looks
like from the top...then more woods. |
Then one of the
"connector" straight areas. I call it a
connector, because the track is made of short patches of
woods, connected by little straights like this. |
Oh yeah, there are three
or four areas where there is a short section of rocks,
it's not on the whole track, just these short sections. |
Don't hit your head
here. The tree comes down, and if you look in front of my
front wheels, you see a root that bounces you up...into
the tree branch. There was an "X" there,
you can see a piece of it...it's on my Arai now. |
More open
"connectors"
|
...and Mesquite
groves...with thorns on the ground... |
...connected by a long
straight, with a dip in the middle...with water in it... |
Some of this... |
Oh yeah, you can't see
them very well in this picture because of the grass, but
there are a couple of areas where the ground is littered
for about a hundred yards with...cow bones, I have no idea
how they roost or what they do to a tire...but there's
lots! |
And of course lots of
this stuff... |
This is looking
backwards into a creek crossing...we do it at least twice.
|
Mesquite grove connector
straight. Fast. Fast. Fast. But no tellin' what's in
the grass, be careful. |
|
Well
that's it...mostly. Have fun, and don't bust your ass. |
